Looking Back, Looking Ahead

2011 was a great year in many ways.  We were able to be involved with projects in Czech, Slovakia, Austria, and Germany.  We were able to help two new missionary families get settled in the Czech Republic.  We continued our involvement with the Teen Challenge church in Prague.  But, it wasn't a great year just because of our involvement in ministry.  We also saw God provide for our family in miraculous ways.  God gave us the gift of a great international school for our oldest two boys, at a fraction of the normal cost.  We are still amazed that our kids are actually attending this school.  This was a huge, and unexpected, blessing from the Lord.  We also saw another financial miracle at the end of the year.  We had seen a decrease of between $1200-$1500 per month in our support over the last two years.  This had really taken a toll.  Our cash budget finally dropped into a negative balance and was continuing to drop as the months passed.  As many of you noticed, we were requesting prayer for our financial situation.  Over the last 2-3 months of 2011, we began to see money come in from unusual sources.  We also had a few pastors who said that God had laid us on their hearts, and they were sending in a special offering.  We received enough extra money to get our balance out of the negative and back into the positive!  God has always met our needs and we know that He will continue to do it in 2012.  Praise the Lord for His many miracles in 2011.  Please continue to pray with us that the shortfall in our monthly budget will be replaced with new commitments.
We are excited about the opportunities and challenges of 2012.  The first part of the year, we have teams and ministers coming over, we will be traveling, and we have to prepare for our return to the US this summer.  We have to begin calling churches to set up our speaking schedule for itineration.  We must make arrangements to move out of our house and find storage for our furniture, etc.  The second half of the year, we will be traveling in the US speaking at churches, promoting the cause of missions and raising support for our return to Czech in summer of 2013.
For more details on our schedule, please check the calendar page of this website.
Thanks for your continued prayer and financial support.  We look forward to what God has in store for 2012.  May God richly bless you this new year!

Sabinov, Slovakia Roma Church - Healings and Continuous Prayer

Last week I was in Sabinov, Slovakia visiting the Roma (Gypsy) church.  Actually, we were there with Pastor Phil Bennett from Concord, NC to set up a wall of continuous prayer - 24/7/365.  First, on Saturday, Pastor Phil taught a seminar on personal prayer with probably 250 - 300 in attendance.  About 150 people committed to follow a daily reading plan where you read through the bible in a year.  Sunday morning, the idea of a prayer wall was introduced.  To form this wall of prayer, people commit to pray one hour per week for a list of needs put together by the pastors of the church.  These needs include things concerning individuals, the church, the city, and the nation.  They select the day and time.  It takes a minimum of 168 people to cover every hour of the week.  In Sabinov on Sunday morning, there were over 200 people who signed up to be a part of the prayer wall.  It was incredible.  Sunday afternoon, there was a special service for people who needed healing.  Over 400 people were in attendance at this service.  Many people received prayer and many were healed.  One girl who had been living with kidney problems for 10 years received prayer.  The next day she had a doctor's appointment and the doctor said her kidneys were fine, no more problems.  Another girl had crippled feet and couldn't walk normally.  Everyone prayed for her.  The next day her mom called Pastor Marian (Roma pastor) and said the girl could put her feet on the floor almost normally and she was running around saying God healed her.  There were many others touched in a powerful way that day.
On Thursday, we had a service in Kosice, Slovakia, for Pastor Phil to introduce another prayer wall.  To our surprise, the pastor had been talking about the prayer wall for two weeks and people were coming already prepared to sign up.  I had talked to the pastor on the phone a few weeks earlier and described this prayer wall idea to him.  They had already prepared everything before we got there.  That night, over 240 people signed up to be a part of the wall.  Again, incredible!
What an amazing week in Slovakia, people healed and two continuous walls of prayer started.  And we think that another wall will be started in Bratislava in the near future.  God is surely doing great things in Slovakia these days.

We hope you like the new website design.  It's nice to have a new look, but I think this site will also allow us to provide more content, especially pictures.  This front page is also our former blog site, so it will be easy to update with our latest news.  It will also be easy for you to go back and check out past news updates.  I am still working on the site.  So, hopefully, there will be more info. added soon.

Thanks for your prayer and financial support.  We couldn't be here without all of you.  We appreciate you being a part of our team!
