An Interesting Few Weeks

The past few weeks have been interesting. Madelyn was sick. I was sick. Matthew was sick twice. Nathan and Aaron had head lice. I was gone for a week in Postovice, Czech at the Teen Challenge. Then Aaron and Matthew got pink eye, Madelyn fell and hurt her leg and couldn't walk on it, and Nathan tripped on the way to school and hurt his hand. So, it has been a little frustrating for all of us, especially Lenee'. She can write more about that I guess.

As I said, I was recently in Postovice, Czech at the Teen Challenge. I was there with a team from Maranatha Worship Center in Wichita, Kansas. Interesting that I have had two teams in a row from Wichita. We really had a great time working with the guys at the TC. I have spent so much time with the TC guys that they almost seem like family. It was great to meet Pastor Mike Clarensau and the team from Maranatha. It was a pleasure to get to know them. It was a large group and we were able to do many different things. We did back-filling, concrete, plaster, laid block, demolition, clean-up, mortar, plumbing, and a few other things as well. Everyone worked hard and had a great attitude. It was a lot of fun. A highlight of the trip was hearing testimonies from 5 or 6 of the TC staff members. Most of these guys came through the program and have amazing testimonies of God's healing and deliverance. The Bible says that we become a new creation when we give our lives to Jesus. These testimonies really made us realize how true that scripture is. These men were once addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, they were criminals, they had serious health problems, and on and on. Now, it is almost impossible to hear their testimonies and believe these are the same men. Actually, they aren't. God has made them new, they aren't the same people any more. Hallelujah! Isn't it wonderful that even at our worst, God sees us as what we can be in Him. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So we can be made new. Amen! Thanks to the team from Maranatha for their hard work and investment in Central Europe.

I have been asked to speak at three churches in the near future. I will be speaking in Breclav, Czech on Easter Sunday, April 8. Also, I will be speaking in Weisswasser, Germany on May 27 and at our "home" church in Dresden, Germany on June 10. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to share. Please pray that God will speak through me and that the Holy Spirit will work in people's lives during the services.

This past week we have been able to help pass out over 5,ooo flyers advertising the first service for a new church plant in the Prohlis section of Dresden (our neighborhood). There is no evangelical church in this section of the city. This is the second largest section of Dresden, with over 10,000 apartments, most of which were build by the communists during the 80's. Please pray that God will draw people to the church and that God will change many lives through the efforts of this new church plant.

Thanks for partnering with us through your prayers and finances. We pray that God will bless you for your investment in missions. Remember, this is a "team" effort. Thank you for helping "build the kingdom" in Central Europe.

Until next time...
