Three Months In Prague

It has been a while since we have written and a lot has happened in our lives. Through God's grace and supply, we completed our itineration this past summer. We were in the States a long time (two years), but it was great to be able to spend time with our families and visit so many different churches. We had the chance to travel from east to west and north to south, meeting many wonderful people while sharing about missions and Central Europe. Even though in some ways it was a difficult time, it was a great time.
We left for the Czech Republic on September 16, excited about a new adventure in a new city. It was basically like starting over. We lived in Dresden, Germany for three years and even though we had visited Prague many times, visiting is much different than living there. We had no place to live and didn't know any of the language. We had to find places to shop, find the new school, figure out the public transportation, etc. Even though there were many question marks, and it was like starting over, we had peace and excitement because we knew God had led us to Prague. To sum it all up, we very quickly learned how to get around the city, found places to buy groceries and other items, got the kids started in school, and found a great place to live, and moved our things from Dresden. It has really been amazing to see God's faithfulness. He is always faithful, but we are constantly reminded of His goodness and provision. For several months, we had prayed for a house with enough room for all of us, in a location with easy transportation access and accessible shopping (good for Lenee' when I travel), with a backyard for the kids, and at a price that we could afford! A seemingly hard-to-find combination. However, God has provided us with a house that is exactly what we prayed for. We have had help from another missionary couple, as well as our Czech friends from Teen Challenge. It has been a great transition and we are happy to be in Prague.
At the end of September, we hosted a team from Kingsport, TN at the Postovice, Czech Teen Challenge. We knew this team well, as we had worked with many of the people once or twice before. It was a great week of hard work and fun. The team also blessed us by bringing over some of our trunks from the U.S. We all had a great time and got a lot of work done at the TC.
I am working on our 2010 schedule now. The details are being ironed out for 6-7 teams that are definitely coming and there are several more that are interested. Any churches who want to discuss a mission trip to Central Europe please let me know and I will be gald to see what we can do to make it happen.
I really want to say a big thank you to all of you who are supporting us through prayer, finances, and teams. We wouldn't be here without you. Your contributions of time and money do not go un-noticed, not by us or by God. We will all share in the rewards for what is acomplished in Central Europe. When you see a newsletter or look at our website, don't think, "I wonder what they are doing in Central Europe?". Instead, think "I wonder what we are doing in Central Europe?" Even though you may never be here physically, your prayers and finances bring you right here with us, to every country, city, and church that we visit. Thanks for being here!
We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May God's peace and blessings be yours throughout the Christmas season and throughout the next year, as together we build God's kingdom in Central Europe!
Until next time....
