Hungary Planning Trip
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to go Hungary to look at two church projects. The good thing about it was that we were able to plan it around Nathan's school schedule. So, the whole family was able to go! That was really nice. It was great for Lenee' and the kids to get out of Dresden. And it was great for me to have some company on the 8 hour drive. Dave and Karmi Buckley invited us to stay at their house. What a blessing. All of our kids played together and Lenee' and Karmi had some good fellowship time. I was able to go check out the two projects with our AG missionaries in Hungary: Dave, Rick Wislocky, and Paul Gracza. First, we went to Varpalota. A team is coming to Varpalota in the fall and we needed to find out what type of work they would be doing as well as find a place for the team to stay. On the way to the project we expected to see footings dug and poured or maybe even a concrete slab, that's about it. When we drove up we were amazed to see the walls going up! The church had actually ordered the block and had about 15 people from the church working on the walls. At that time they didn't even have the money to pay for the block! But they were trusting God and moving on. Isn't that awesome! Since we were there, the walls have been finished and the block has now been paid for. Praise God! This church has a great vision for reaching their community, especially students. They have already planted two other churches and want to plant more. It is great to be able to partner with churches like this who really have a heart to reach their communities. We were also able to find a nice hotel about 5 minutes from the jobsite. So, everything is in place for the team in the fall. After this we went to Kunszentmiklos to look at another church. This is a smaller church that has already purchased their building and done a lot of work on their own as well. They purchased a one-story building and turned it into a two-story building. They need to have the interior of the second floor finished. This is also a church with a great vision for their community. They have a wonderful ministry to the children of the area. They place a great emphasis on reaching children. They do many things including camps for children every summer. Another church that you can really get excited about helping. We have met so many wonderful people in several different countries. From missionaries to local pastors to Teen Challenge directors to team members, it is really a privilege to be able to work along side these wonderful people and to be a small part of the ministry that they are involved in. What a blessing!
