Miscellaneous
A couple more things of note. I think I have already said that Nathan is in an after school program so he will have more contact with German kids and learn the language faster. He is really enjoying both his school and his after school program. We were a little concerned because the first grade classes here get out for the day at 11:10. He stays in the after school program until 4:00. We thought maybe he would think it was too long. But he really likes it. He gets a chance to do his homework during that time, as well as eat lunch, take a nap, and play with the other kids. So, when he gets home he doesn't have to do any homework. And his German is getting better. We had a German lady from our church watch our kids the other night while we went out (I can't remember the last time we did that) with Steve and China Walent (missionaries in Dresden). When we got home she told us that Nathan's German was very good. Now, if ours was only that good... A few weeks ago, Lenee' had a started getting all these bumps all over her arms and legs. They were like mosquito bites, they were even itching. That was strange enough, but then the muscles in her arms and legs started getting very sore. It got really bad. She couldn't make a fist or even pick up Madelyn. She walked around like she was 100 years old. At first with the bumps, we just kind of ignored it and assumed it would go away. Then when all the soreness started and just kept getting worse, we both were getting a little concerned. She went to the doctor and they did a blood test. The doctor said there was nothing that fit the symptoms except a very rare debilitating disease. The blood test would determine whether she had it or not. We let some people know so they could start praying. It took several days to find out that she did not have the disease (praise the Lord). And it just kind of went away after that. It took a few days but she was back to normal. No medicine or anything. The doctor really couldn't find anything that directly caused the problems. It was kind of scary there for a while. I had these visions of me taking care of the four children and Lenee' in a wheelchair or something like that. That was not a pleasant thought. Lenee' was also getting worried that it would get to the point that she would not be able to take care of the children anymore, or even pick them up at all. It was a very weird and scary situation for about a week and a half. No real explanation. Well, we are all in a spiritual battle. And I think that very well could be the explanation. Because when everyone started praying she started getting better. The Word says that Satan comes to "steal, kill, and destroy", but the Word also says that God is our health and healer. And we believe that God answered prayer and restored her to health. And we thank Him for it. And we thank all of you who were praying as well. We all need to remember that God is the "I am". That means, I am __________. You fill in the blank. He is everything we could ever need. "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things will be added unto you". What a great promise. We waste so much time worrying about the things of this world. If we would take the time we spend on things that we think are so important, but in the big picture really don't matter, and use that time to focus on God.......We would not only have a closer walk with God, but we would also have everything we need. Sounds like a good deal, doesn't it?
